Just wanted to let everyone know the great news about sweet little Blayne - the doctors said that he is responding at the level of a 4 month old - he is only 2 months now! Although he will still have to be watched closely, we are all relieved at the news. Love you all and thank you for the many prayers!

Well, as many of you may know Penny had her puppies! 4 little cuties (1 girl and 3 boys) Their names are Lilly, Milo, Calvin & Chance (thanks for the help girls).

Just wanted to share the pics with you - they really aren't very camera friendly right now! =)

Anticipation!

Stay tuned for coming photos of my "new" Mountain bike. Many of you saw the injuries from my first time out on my new (used) bike. After the crash, Rob and I decided that we were going to take the entire thing apart and paint it orange (of course!). We began putting it together last night and tonight the few finishing touches are going on. The bike should be ready to go by tonight PM. I will post photos for all to see. We are really excited about it. It turned out much better then we thought it would.

Colton's Soccer Practice

Here is a video of colton playing soccer at his practice!

Down here in Texas!!

Madelynn loves her big brother! Everytime colton walks into the room madelynn just lights up! I cant believe he is almost dont with kindergarten moving on to the first grade!

Kylie is just the little princess she always has been. I cant believe that in a month and a half she will be 4! Kylie loves having another girl in the house, but i think now that maddie is starting to get around she realizes that maddie is starting to take her stuff!!
Colton is playing soccer for the first time this year and loving it! A couple weeks ago mamaw suprised him and showed up and his game! Colton kept looking at her because he was shocked to see her there and he wasnt paying attention to the game! He has improved so much from the first game until now!
Madelynn is already 8 months old! Maddie will get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth, but no crawling yet. Of course maddies first word was
"Da Da". Everytime i tell her to say "Ma Ma" she just looks at me and laughs!

While Rob and I were in Utah for Crysta's wedding we spent a day skiing with Rod at Snowbird.  It had snowed the night before so it was a great ski day.  We tried out the tunnel that goes from one side of the mountain to the ski lifts on the other side of the mountain.  At one point in the tunnel you are 200 feet under ground.

Spring Break In Moab

Off to Moab. This is the beginning of the trip so Mom and Dad are still smiling! Seriously though, we had a great spring break in Moab. We climbed to some ancient indian petroglyphs, hiked around Arches National Park, visited Deadhorse Point State Park, and ate and ate and ate. It was great to have the kids all to ourselves with no schedules to keep.

Traveling in style. What a cute bunch of kids!!

Look closely in the shaded area to see the petroglyphs.

This is Landscape Arch in Arches National Park.

Rod and Julie on Deadhorse Point. The view was breathtaking, but it was very windy!
Although vacations with kids are never relaxing it was a great time to get to know our children a little better. We learned that Wesley is the biggest worrier. He spent all the time when we were hiking worrying about where the little ones were and if they were too close to the edge.
We learned Connor is very patient and tolerant. He was the only one who would share a room with Halle. (If you've never slept near Halle you won't believe how loud that girl can snore!)
We discovered that Braden is great at the game Five Crowns and loves a little one-on-one time with his Mom and Dad.We discovered that Halle really is spoiled rotten but we love her anyway because she always puts a smile on our faces. And Parker... he is the light of our lives. He brings this family so much happiness. We learned that he can go all day on one diaper change and never complain. Ugh! Sorry Parkie!!!

We had a great weekend in Moab. Thanks for letting us share it with you. We love you all!!

WASL Sucks!

Today is the WASL (Washington Assessment of Student Learning). The Math portion of this test is the most ridiculous test I have ever seen. The story problems are huge and totally irrelevant and are not similar in any way to the curriculum they are teaching them at school. You literally have to teach the students how to answer the math questions in a way that is going to get them full points on a questions. Throw in the fact that my students are all behind in their math skills anyway and the anxiety level is high during this week.

Here is an example of one of the questions from last years test. Good luck. Let me know if you think you get the right answer!

The new school has exactly 1,000 lockers and exactly 1,000 students. On the first day of school, the students meet outside the building and agree on the following plan: The first student will enter the school and open all the lockers. The second student will then enter the school and close every locker with an even number (2, 4, 6, 8,...). The third student will then reverse" every third locker (3, 6, 9, 12,...). That is, if the locker is closed, the student will open it; if the locker is open, he or she will close it. The fourth student will then reverse every fourth locker, and so on until all 1,000 students in turn have entered the building and reversed the proper lockers. Which lockers finally remain open? Explain your answer in detail.

Girls Just Want to Have Fun

I took this picture outside the Temple on Crysta and Ryan's wedding day. The little girls were having so much fun! I thought it was pretty cute.

Hello from Texas

I think this is an awesome idea and love to hear of how everyone is doing....
Things in Texas are good. We all stay busy and seem to rarely have time to catch up with each other much less our family in other areas.

Chaz made a video for school it is hilarious!! I am going to try at attach it so everyone can enjoy - just a note - the swing scene did not go as planned!! ;-)

I love you all and look forward to the many visits from some of you this summer!
